The interaction between the interior and the exterior is omnipresent. The apartment is arranged in a succession of adjoining rooms that give access to the garden. The studio has skillfully integrated natural materials into the interior design, caning or rabane have been selected in several rooms of the house creating unity between the spaces. They match the terrazzo found in the kitchen, the entrance and the bathrooms, in different weights.
The materials respond to each other and create harmony between the spaces. In the living room and bedrooms, oak parquet flooring gives a warm look, echoing the white lacquered defibered oak doors and natural oak embrasures. Sarah Lavoine's signature colors are obviously present: midnight blue in the library, Chinese tea in the entrance, lacquered forest green in the kitchen.
The interior design work helped to create harmony and fluidity between the different living spaces.
The kitchen, both family-friendly and elegant, communicates with the garden and the living room.
Maison Sarah Lavoine plays on the contrast of materials and colors, the black marble worktop elegantly highlights the caning of the storage units and the lacquered green of the kitchen. The use of large antique mirrors further accentuates the vanishing points towards the outside.
The layout of the living room is an illustration of a mastered mix and the assembly of different materials. The library open to the living room, made of birch, stands out against a luminous midnight blue. One of the ambitions of the project was to successfully combine the different styles and influences. The studio's objective was therefore to orchestrate this subtle association of vintage furniture, designer pieces, travel souvenirs, belonging to the owner, in a refined setting.
In the bathrooms, the atmosphere is refined, the black and white of the terrazzo dominate. The vanity units and their fine geometric black lines were custom designed. Here again, a natural straw tray contrasts the stone and metal. The golden brass of the vintage mirror and wall lights are added as a final touch.
The bedroom is a bright and light refuge in which an imposing headboard in raffia and black wood has been designed. Pastel pink bench, thick green velvet curtains and vintage bedside tables: the mix of genres here is at the service of comfort and elegance.
The dressing room evokes the luxury of grand hotels while remaining warm. Its wide cane doors finely filter the light from the backlit shelves and create a soft and cozy atmosphere.
